ECR Commercial Refrigeration Fan Motors

Our ECR® Series includes three models, each offering a distinct set of features. All ECR models are physically compatible with Q frame and unit bearing style motors, and are suitable for use in evaporator or condenser applications.
For assistance in selecting the right ECR motor for your application, see the table and descriptions below, or contact us.
To find out more about EC motors and their benefits in general, see our EC Motors FAQ.

ECR2 is our latest ECR model. It offers unmatched features and flexibility. It is the motor to select if you need the best noise or efficiency, multi voltage and frequency capabilities, or to use advanced control strategies, while maintaining a reasonable cost.
ECR2 motors' advanced electronics mean they are up to 4.5dBA quieter than competing motors. They are designed to handle the most severe refrigeration applications, with IP67 environmental protection, over-temperature "foldback" capability which maintains airflow even in extreme conditions, and EMC protection to double the IEC Industrial specification.
ECR2 motors are suitable for use with most axial fans from 125-220mm (5"-8.75") and tangential fans up to 300mm.
All ECR2 motors are ATEX compliant and suitable for use with hydrocarbon refrigerants.
ECR2 motors can also be supplied in materials compatible with US and European food contact regulations, giving increased flexibility in food service applications.
For more information, see the downloads section below, or contact us.

ECR1 is the motor to select if you need maximum power or speed (up to 25W and 2300rpm), with a good level of performance and flexibility.
It is a proven solution for plug-in and remote applications, with over 2 million motors in the field.
ECR1 motors are suitable for use with most axial fans from 172-254mm (7"-10") and for tangential fans up to 300mm. They can also be supplied in long-shaft versions for agitator applications.
ECR1 motors are available in both ATEX and "hydrocarbon compatible"* versions.
*certified to IEC60335-2-89 Annex BB

ECR82 (230V) and ECR92 (115V) are the motors to choose if you want a simple, reliable, low cost EC motor, and are able to compromise slightly in noise and efficiency.
ECR82/92 motors are "mains synchronous", meaning they only run at a fixed speed related to the AC mains frequency - 1500rpm for 50Hz supplies, or 1800rpm for 60Hz.
ECR82/92 motors are suitable for use with most axial fans from 150-220mm (6"-8.75").
ECR82/92 motors are available in both ATEX and "hydrocarbon compatible"* versions.
*certified to IEC60335-2-89 Annex BB

Motor Programming Tools
Wellington offers programmers suitable for field, factory, or laboratory use, which can change the speed and direction settings of ECR2 motors*.
Wellington's unique over-the-mains programming system requires no motor dismantling or additional hardware in the motor, and allows motors to be reprogrammed while installed. Up to 8 motors can be programmed simultaneously.
Program settings can be adjusted using a PC or user friendly mobile apps.
*3 wire models only

Customisation
For OEM customers, Wellington can customise many aspects of our motors, including:
- programmed behaviours
- cables
- labelling and branding
- fans and compete airflow solutions
- brackets, baskets, and other accessories
- assembly services
Accessories
Wellington offers a full range of fans, baskets, and motor mounts to OEM customers, and can supply accessories separately or pre-assembled.
